Visa requirements

Athletes and team management from non-visa waiver countries are required to present a Letter of Invitation from the LOC as part of their visa application process when applying to enter New Zealand for this event. In order to receive a Letter of Invitation National Federations are required to provide the athlete information for Elite athletes to

Information required includes:
  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Role (ie: Athlete; Coach; Medical; Media etc)
  • International Federation
  • Country of residence
  • Passport number, issue date, expiry date and Country of issue
  • Arrival and Departure details (date and times and where possible Flight numbers)

Once this information has been received the Letter of Invitation for each team member will be sent to the National Federation who are responsible for passing the letter on to the team member to include as part of their visa application. Visa’s can take up to six weeks to process once filed with New Zealand Immigration so requests for Letters of Invitation need to be completed early.
